Privacy Policy
1. Overview
chainhelm (the "Site") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information is collected when you visit chainhelm.com, how it is used, and what rights you have.
2. Information we do not collect
The Site does not require account creation. We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers or other personally identifying information directly from you unless you voluntarily provide it (e.g. by emailing the desk).
3. Information collected automatically
When you visit the Site, third-party services collect limited technical data:
- Google Analytics (GA4) — measurement ID
G-HGV0PZ93QJ. Collects anonymised usage data: pages visited, session duration, referrer URL, approximate location (country/city), device type, browser, OS and screen resolution. Data is retained per Google's defaults (typically 14 months for event data). - Cloudflare — our hosting and CDN provider. Processes IP addresses, request headers, URLs and response codes at the edge. IPs are not retained long-term by chainhelm.
- Substack — if you submit your email through the newsletter subscription form, you are redirected to chainhelm.substack.com. Substack's privacy policy applies to that interaction; chainhelm does not store subscriber email addresses on its own infrastructure.
4. Cookies
Google Analytics sets cookies to distinguish users and sessions. You can block or delete these cookies in your browser settings without affecting site functionality. The Site does not set cookies of its own.
5. Affiliate links
Outbound links to partner exchanges may attach referral identifiers (e.g. a code in the URL). When you click such a link, the partner exchange is able to attribute your visit to chainhelm. This is part of how the Site is funded; see the About page for the full disclosure.
6. Your choices
- Opt out of GA4 using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Block cookies via your browser preferences.
- Do Not Track / GPC — the Site sets no tracking of its own; analytics is limited to GA4 (§3), which you can opt out of above.
7. International users
chainhelm.com is accessible globally. If you access the Site from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California, you have additional rights under GDPR (EU/UK) or CCPA (California) to access, correct, or delete personal data. The Site collects only anonymised analytics data (see §3); to exercise these rights, contact the desk at [email protected].
8. Children
The Site is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from them.
9. Changes
Material changes to this policy will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
